Internet Marketing - A Unique Occupation

Think about this. This is an occupation where people have put in an hour of work and have made millions and an occupation where you could potentially put in a thousand hours of work and make nothing.

I don't mean to discourage you. I love it and I wouldn't change it for the world, the point that I'm making is that it certainly isn't for every Tom, Dick and Harry.

I guess you could say that for any occupation. The big differences being that you don't have a boss. The vast majority of jobs out there, you will have a boss to keep you on track.

You don't have this employer that is going to write you checks, just because you declare yourself an Internet Marketer. If I'm hired by an employer and I put in those hours, chances are that I'm going to get paid for them, even if I just horse-off.

I remember getting called to jury duty, one time. I was like, oh great, jury duty. I lived in a small town and I was in college at the time. I lived in a small town and I had to drive 30 miles to the nearest courthouse.

It ended up to be a joke, I just showed up and waited in a conference room and read magazines. After about an hour, they came in and told us that our case wasn't going to court and that we could go home. They paid me the mileage and for showing up. Good old Uncle Sam.

The point being that I just showed up to jury duty and they paid me. If you just show up to Internet Marketing, you don't get a dime. You have make it a go for yourself. No one is going to bail you out, you need to put your time in.

If you want to be a successful Internet Marketer, you better arm yourself with knowledge, the ability to plan and the ability act on your planning. Internet Marketing is usually a one-stop-shop. You better be able to motivate yourself, because you have no boss. You better stay hungry because you don't have a boss to keep you that way.

It is all about self-discipline, the desire to get better and staying on track. Those are three very important things, that any successful Internet Marketer must have.

Stay hungry...

Internet Marketing Shock

All of us, experienced Internet Marketers have gone into Internet Marketing shock, before. We may have got hit by a Google slap, we may have had personal losses and we may have been screwed over by a certain web site's policies or terms, that have been changed.

Don't go into shock let this incident motivate you. Your online business can go on, you can go on and be very successful online. It isn't always the hand you're dealt; it is the way that you play it.

Some of us are dealt a great hand and completely mess it up and squander everything. Some of us are dealt average hands and we either blow them or turn them into major success stories.

Some people are dealt brilliant hands and end up blowing it all and ending up at the bottom of the barrow. That leaves me to believe that being dealt the best or worst hand, isn't as important as being able to deal with the hand.

Being able to bounce back and have confidence in yourself is vitally important. A lot of the biggest names in the business have been on the mat and almost counted out.

I've been there several times and each time, I've grown stronger. You begin to realize that you're who is controlling things.

Not some website, not some guru, you. You're controlling your fate and your own success. You have to learn to trust yourself and to believe in yourself. Once you decide to trust and believe in yourself, nothing can stop yourself, but yourself.

I've had some terrible shocks and some of them should of drove me back to a day job. I've had some really terrible things happen to my online business. Things change, your online business is going to probably go through a lot of changes. I never let the changes hamper my businesses growth.
I didn't stay in Internet Marketing shock. I've had people tell me that I was ruining my online business and that I was done. I knew that I was just getting started, simply because of talent and confidence.

Look, I've been called every name in the book, online. I've been told that I'd never amount to anything. The main thing that has gotten me through was the believe in myself and that no one could bring me down or stop me. I had become supremely confident in my abilities and no one was going to take that from me.

Internet Marketing - A Make Money Online Strategy

There are a lot of factors that go into deciding what strategy to use for making money online and how and where to apply it. I'm going to talk about what I think about when it comes to applying strategies.

The first thing I think about is, is it feasible? What is the earnings potential? How long do I think it will take me to become profitable? How much time and effort is it going to take?

It depends on the person and their skills, it depends on the strategy and it depends on the market. Certain strategies don't work very well in certain niche markets. The big thing is you should play to your strengths.

I can write very quickly, so any niche or any strategy where I can write and make money, are good situations to put myself in. I'm heavily involved in product creation, in a number of different niche markets because it is so easy for me to write and create products quickly.

I also enjoy writing, so it is an added bonus. I would hate to have to do things that I absolutely despise. Creating big websites from scratch is one of those things that drives me crazy. I'm not a big technical guy either.

I can do most of those technical online activities, but it drives me crazy. It takes me a long time and I find it to be so darn boring that I would never want to do very much of it.

A lot of people that get into Internet Marketing are people that don't like their job and they want to like their job. If you quit your job and become an Internet Marketer and you don't like the work you're doing as an Internet Marketer, then you are kind of defeating the purpose of becoming an Internet Marketer.

Loving what you do is a big part of it. It is something that you really can't put a price on. On the flip side of that coin, one of the great things about Internet Marketing is that you work your own hours.

You can put in that hard work early on to build your business and gradually scale back how much you have to work. I started out putting in probably ten to twelve hour days, on average. I'm now putting in about three hours a day, on average.
